Certainly
Something shiny catches my eye
as I cross the street to the car—
a scuffed, little disco ball bead.
I toss it into the ashtray, next to
the tooth-sized piece of quartz,
the starry green shard of sea glass,
the paperclip, and two
new pennies. Certainly
I am becoming a crow.
